Nothing bad against the old Thermaltake tr2 rx 850w lasted five years. I decided to add a new 1440p asus gsync screen and oc the gpu duel sli (EVGA gtx 980 sc acx 2.0) the psu gave out. It shut down and would turn on for 5 seconds off then on and so forth. I grabbed a 500watt psu to try and pc boots up just fine.

What brand psu should I get? I'm leaning towards evga 220-g2-0850-xr it's 850watts 70amp 12v gold rated full modular. Newegg 99.99$ +5$sh not a bad price to me?

Other thoughts: Most likely to water cool the whole setup and hope that a new gpu bios comes out to get more then 87mv to the gpu. I hear they run 40c max load at +87mv. These cards have so much potential!

i7 4790k @4.5ghz
Evga gtx 980 sc @1550 core x2
Asus sabertooth mk1 z97
16gb @1866mghz
Evo 120gb and 1tb ssd
