so i was playing a game and suddenly got a memory_management bsod,so i try taking another pair of ram stick from my main pc (it runs 24/7 no problem, never get a bsod, so i dont think the ram stick is the problem)
then i install it on my other pc,its still the same when i put the ram on slot 2 and 4 ,and it boots up ok when i put the ram on slot 1 3 ,but windows memory diagnostic tool say that theres a hardware problem detected ,could this be the ram slot problem ? or my ram is bad

additional, the windows is a fresh install,i installed it yesterday
mobo:msi z97 gaming 3
cpu intel xeon e3 1220

Solution
The memory channel is malfunctioning (which is why the two slots of the first channel arent working) and is most likely because of damaged pins in the CPU socket not allowing the computer CPU to communicate with the RAM controller. If a CMOS reset doesnt fix it then it is almost certainly a damaged socket or if you are lucky, misconfigured BIOS settings. You are very, very unlikely to get any kind of refund or support for this problem and would be better off seeing if you can repair the damage that you have probably caused yourself. User damage/misconfiguration is not covered by any warranty.

its ok on slot 1 and 3 ,i got bsod when i put it on slot 2 and 4 ,the ram was from my main rig that runs without problem

then i suspect your mobo is failing at you.

did you test it on another PC?

yes im asking about it in here just to make sure before complaining to the distributor
