Hi,
I have a Dell XPS 15 9560 from Feb 2017. The touchpad stopped working (can't click) several months ago. Now I'm noticing it is slightly raised. Reading online I see this is a common problem with the battery swelling. It is also getting a bit hot, fan running a lot. I'm keeping it propped up for ventilation.
I called Dell and it would cost me around 280 Euro to replace the battery and touchpad. A new one to meet my needs would probably run me around 2k Euro.
Any thoughts on whether it is worth it to prolong the life with a new battery as opposed to going for a new laptop (Dell or otherwise, I haven't shopped around in 3+ years)?
Appreciate your advice. I'm really torn on this, and probably need to decide quickly given the circumstances.
Thanks!
