Is BF3 the same title as Bad Company 1/2? I love Bad Company 2 on PS3. Never had lag. Just had issues were my rankings and guns disappeared. That glitch sucked.

resistance 2 had 60 players, didn't lag as far as i remember and mag with its 128 didn't either, so this shouldn't be a problem.

I'm a little reluctant to have prone, no dolphin tactics and we are ok.
It seems LAN support in these times is a little out of question but It will surely kick ass!

BTW EA do a Presale on steam, I hate your online store, it always redirect me to the european prices and hell I'm in Mexico =(

"DICE has honed the concept for the true sequel for years, but it wasn't until the company developed the powerful new Frostbite 2 engine that it felt all the pieces were in place to create a proper follow-up,"

Haha yeah right, they didn't because they were milking as much money from the consoles as possible... But anyway I loved BF2 so BF3 will be just as good.

Command & Conquer has support for 120+ players. While I have never seen this phenomenon, in 2007-2008, there were several servers that had 50-60 players all day long. Welcome to 2002 everybody!

Yeah, anyone jump in and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the reason why they're no lag is due to the fact that their are so few objects for the server to have to connect to relative to RTS games. The map(tanks, aircraft, buildings etc.) is loaded as a hub for everyone to connect to, but the map itself and the graphics as whole, for that matter, have very little to do with lag.

You guy must haven't played BF2, its still popular, and supports 64 people, with NO lag. I don't see why people think it would lag with 64 people..? See what game's have done.. Decrease the amount of players on a server, leaving MORE server's up with less people.. 64 people in BF2 is awesome, I can't believe they are releasing news on this game! I've been waiting for the tiniest bit of info for forever!

BF3 won't be the same because they will spout off about complication with the newer engine like they did with bc2 and not release mod tools. What's a BF game with out mods or even map editor tools? I'll expect the same treatment for content releases being rehashed maps from different game modes. The series died long ago and all it is now is an empty shell, user content "made them". Only good Battlefield game was 1942 in my own opinion.

I just hope its like BC2 but bigger maps, bigger squads, commander support, and new vehicle classes. With 64 players the maps better be huge or it's going to be annoying to die every 10 seconds. But on the same hand, I'm not a fan of BF2 where everyone vehicle whores and no one is on the ground fighting except noob snipers.

pffft. Even 120 players is tiny. Play a real MMO combat sim. The game I play has a seamless map that covers 380,000 square miles and has true combined arms combat with an upward limit of over 10,000. Infantry, armour, air power, naval power. It also boasts the most realistic damage models and ballistic physics of any game that I have seen.

" 64-player multiplayer support for the PC version right out of the box"

EDIT: ok, dunno what happened, but i just noticed almost my entire post didnt post. neways, was mainly stating that 64-player support isnt really news since ive been playing 64player servers for quite sometime on BF2:pR. Had alot more input, just forgot by now. :-(
