[SOLVED] Battlefield 6 ( 2042 ) cpu+mobo+ram upgrade

i understand it is too early to judge how much power we r going to need to run this game smoothly, but i ll ask for ur opinions anyway. My goal is to run multiplayer ( 128 players according to recent videos ) at 1920*1080 resolution and 100-144 fps , medium-high settings ( the higher the better, I like the eye candy but I prefer smoothness )
current rig:
CPU: i7 6700
motherboard: asus z170 pro gaming
ram: 16gb 2133mhz
cooler: Noctua NH-U12P SE2
storage: m.2 adata xpg gammix s11 pro 512gb
gpu: gigabyte gtx 1080
psu: evga G2 supernova 750w
case: fractal design define R4 black pearl , 5 fans total ( 2140mm front intake, 1120mm bottom intake, 2*140mm exhaust at back and top of the case )

i plan to uprade cpu, mobo and ram only, cpu cooler only if the current one cant be mounted on new mobo or is not sufficient enough to cool a new cpu. I am considering buying I5 11400 or I5 11600, asus TUF gaming b560 and Crucial Ballistix Red 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 CL16, I dont plan overclocking my CPU, I just want it to run all its cores/threads at highest speeds it has avaialable for them, same applies for ram ( no OC, only XMP to run them at 3200 or 3600 mhz ). Thank u for ur opinions and sorry for wall of text.

A reasonable plan. You can look at other recent Frostbite 3 engine titles for a rough idea on performance requirements.

But since you aren't changing GPUs, your plan to increase processor performance is ideal.

Your CPU cooler is fine. Motherboard appears to have decent power delivery.

Running the CPU at its highest speeds is effectively overclocking, as is XMP. But, yes, just a few clicks away from increased performance. You would want to remove the power limits on the CPU so that it will stay at boost speeds indefinitely.

Yes, LGA1200 is the same size as LGA775, LGA1155, LGA1150, and LGA1151

Well, 400Mhz is nothing to discount between the two, you could also get the 11600K and just not overclock it for another 100Mhz. Entirely up to your budget.

i found huge deal, mobo MSI Z590 Pro Wifi with valid warranty, never unpacked and even cheaper than b560 one, maybe i wont use all its features, but why not right

My understanding is that the entire i5 and up stack use the same CPU design. Stands to reason they would solder all of them. 6 or 8 cores and 24/32/0 EUs for graphics.

I will see if that can be confirmed.

i am from czech republic so i will exchange into usd currency, new asus tuf b560 costs here +- 155 usd , new msi z590 pro wifi +- 249 usd, i can get the msi, unpacked, with warranty and all papers for 144 usd. my budget for cpu+mobo+ram is 622 usd, ofc the cheaper the better

Excellent price for that MSI board. If by chance anything happens and you don't get that board then have a look at these boards if you'd like to run the 10400/10400F with the power limits turned off in the bios. It's a round a bout way of OC those locked Intel cpu's.

yeah i am stupid, my currenct cpu is i7 6700 and mobo is asus z170 pro gaming, no idea why i wrote i7 3770

going for the msi mobo today, it is 100% done deal. with cpu purchase i ll wait a bit ( bf 6 goes live at october ), since yesterday i watch marketplaces with used parts ( with valid warranty and all papers ) so if a good deal appears for i5 11400, 11600 or even 11700 ( all non K ), i ll grab one of those, if not, i ll just buy new i5 11400 ( new costs +- 260 usd here where I live )

Sadly it isnt for battlefield 2042, i played it, you need i better gpu

You sure? I see videos of Battlefield 2042 beta running about 60 FPS average on 1080p High settings, that certainly playable. Granted they were using a 5900X for a CPU.

I am a little surprised how much they added to the same engine though, Battlefield 5 at 1080p ultra managed well over 100FPS...

Was that multiplayer? I can see why a 128 player multiplayer map would hammer the cpu more.

The actual measured average was ~70 FPS, but there were high points in the 80s when the camera was pointed at the sky. Low 60s seemed pretty consistent and there were dips into the 50s during heavy action.

Certainly multiplayer.

Dang! Just ordered new parts for pc. 5600x +2060 Super! Should have gone a little better on GPU.

It's crazy to think the GTX1080 is struggling at 1080p medium. FPS below around the 70's. Ugh

Hey, you get what you can get. RTX2060 Super isn't too bad. Hopefully it wasn't too expensive.

I waited out Newegg Shuffle for 7 months or something, and the first one I could get was the 3080Ti, I justified it by having had my GTX1080 for 5 years, figure this one can last about the same with my habits.

2042 is about the only title I am looking forward to. I logged more hours than I care to admit in 1942, glad they finally for the massive player count back. even 32 vs 32 was pretty good, 64 vs 64, should be pretty neat.

Playing Diablo II resurrected is all the load I've put on it so far, aside from a few benches and some Mechwarrior Online (I find CryEngine titles a good general test for stability)
