Benq monitor displaying strange banding

Hi, my first post here!

Recently, my monitor has been displaying this strange banding up and down the screen for a few seconds, as shown in the video below:

It happens occasionally, when the Windows log in screen comes on (as in the video) or when the monitor has been asleep for a while and is woken up. It just happens for a few seconds, then settles down and behaves as normal.

Do you have any ideas what it could be? I thought the monitor could be failing (it's a Benq XL2411T and is about 5 years old).But, when I switch my PC on, the monitor shows the usual start up sequence without issue, it's only when the Windows log in screen appears that the problem occurs. So, I'm not sure if in could be something else...

It looks like the monitor is about to pop its lights out for good.
A change in resoultion/frequenecy from the loading screen to your desktop screen appears to cause this.
If the cable is not faulty, no chinks or cuts, plugged in tightly both ends etc., then try and test your setup with a different monitor and do the same login.
