Question Bent pcie slot, is it safe to use?

The rig was shipped with gpu installed and when it arrived the pcie slot got damaged and gpu is not working, it was given to me by a friend

the pins looks to be okay but the slot itself is widened

If the GPU doesn't work when plugged into it, it likely is damaged internally and may even have been pulled away from the pads on the board itself.

I'd gravitate towards the slot being physically damaged as the cause.

Have you tried running the card in the second PCIe slot?

That said I wouldn't recommend running on the second slot as you'll most likely miss out on some performance, depending on what GPU you have, you might be limiting its bandwidth heavily as the second PCIe slot is running in x4 mode instead of x16.
