Best 24 inch widescreen display under 300$

Hey guys, looking for your excellent help once again.

Im looking for the best 24" (or close to it) monitor under 300$ with a 5ms time or better.

I would get a 1920x1200 display but i cant find one that has a 5ms time in that price range. Im perfectly happy to settle for a 1080 display though.

The manufacturer quoted response times are oversimplifications of the response time, and different manufacturers use different formulas to find the average response time. However, the HP LA2405wg is 1920x1200, currently on sale at Newegg to put it in your price range, and lists 5ms response time (though it doesn't specify whether this is G2G or some other measure): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176141

Its 23 inches and only 1920x 1080.

but heres the kicker, its an IPS screen.

Is this technology really worth it? the prices are practically the same. IS IPS really that great?

Definitely. TN is *** compared to IPS.

And that TN isnt even 120 Hz.

Go with the IPS and those extra pixels are just problematic if you have any intention of gaming.

Bloody hell its got a 14 ms refresh rate. theres going to be some bad ghosting with games.
