I've decided that this year I will finally upgrade from a 1080p 60hz monitor to a 1080p 240hz monitor. I've done my research and I'm stuck between the following two monitors:
-Acer Predator XB272 27'' (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071D6NGMH?tag=edit-tech-round-up-20&ascsubtag=53ed0351-9cb6-450b-b7d7-e0015aa742f4&th=1)
-Alienware AW2518H 25'' (https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/alienware-25-gaming-monitor-aw2518h/apd/210-amsr/monitor-accessories)

The price doesn't matter. So if you had a choice between one of these monitors, which one would you go for? Thanks!

I've had pg278q for 1.5 years 2560x1440p 144hz tn 27', then the pg279q for 3 years ips version 165hz, i just baught the xb272 used for a week, its a good tn panel, the gap between the pixels is smaller than say LG ones or even those asus ones maybe so you cant notice the pixels at all for this size which is good, battlenonsense has done a input lag comparison vid which is .5ms slower than the asus 240hz, ive been testing 144hz vs 240hz, it is noticeable where 144hz gives a 6% input delay decrease compared to 60hz, 240hz is 2% and 1.7% to 165hz? overall from a old 1440p 60hz ips i was using to the 144hz tn there was a 15% performance gain(based on having fps past HZ range on both monitors with native resolutions) in score in UT3, however this wasnt comparing the same low latency per hz(60 would be around 10ms middle) and not tn vs tn but was comparing ips to tn, this would conclude from the ips comparison that 240hz would be 4-5% better for your "gaming skill" but I really don't think this is the case, more like 1.55(from 165hz)-2%(from 144hz), IMO out of those two the acer is the better value as its on sale last week and this week at places for 599 AUD in australia, however i would recommend for you to ignore 240hz and get a 1440p 144hz/165hz.

Also this 1.55-2% gaming skill increase doesnt take into account any skill you gain from a higher resolution of 2560x1440 in regards to what more you can see, 1440p is 25% wider in pixels, helps more for long long range shooting.

If you always have a mid or lower tier graphics card then its probably better to get the 240hz as 1080p is easier to run though more cpu bottlenecked, you want to have atleast 100fps+.

I still get like 120fps with a 1070 in blackout on 1080p so its nice using this monitor i guess.

tn's for competitive
Acer Predator XB1 QHD 165Hz G-Sync 24in Gaming Monitor $679 AUD
AOC AGON AG271QX QHD 144Hz FreeSync 27in Gaming Monitor $565 AUD

ips
ASUS MG279Q QHD 144Hz FreeSync 27in IPS Gaming Monitor $699 aud
Acer XF270HU QHD 144Hz FreeSync 27in IPS Gaming Monitor $649 aud

also recommend against gsync and going highest frames possible.

make sure u use lagom to calibrate atleast
