Yes and the R5 1600 is similar or better, especially when it comes to smooth frametimes. In games that utilize more than 4 threads, which is most, the i5 struggles at 100% usage and has frequent large dips.
 
Nope its not. 7500 has faster IPC and clock speed, which benefits games more than more cores. Hell, most games not even use 4 thread, leave alone exceed them. Only a handful of them does.
And put a 1600 build at that price point is not even feasible. He will ahve to compromise on gpu power.
 


Then you're against 90%+ of this forum. All AAA-games utilize more than 4 threads. Use both CPUs yourself in AAA-games and you'll notice how much smoother more cores is.
