Thank you for telling me.

Wrong! I've overclocked an 8 core chip on that board from 3.1GHz to 4.3GHz. It's been a year and a half and it's as stable as can be. I've had zero problems with this mobo and it's great for a budget board and great for overclocking.

Im assuming you had a larger case with better airflow, and a nice cpu cooler to assist in VRM cooling compared to what the OP is buying, and got lucky on the quality of the mobo. Many people around the internets have burnt out these boards even with 4 core fx processors.

To stay with amd, there are much better boards than the LE for the same price.

That build I made is with Antec GX700 and a $30 Silverstone air cooler, nothing special.

Why not? They are both hyperthreaded dual cores

ok thank you

Thank you. Will I see a disadvantage with the i3 in multithreaded tasks such as battlefield 4 against the fx-6300 overclocked?

Actually yes, the FX-6300 will give slightly better framerates in BF4 and Crysis 3, those are two games that can multithread very well.

In most other games the i3 comes out on top, for watch dogs the FPS would be very similar and for any other games I invite you to check the benchmarks.

How far ahead would the fx be in battlefield and crysis. I actually think that I'll be getting into those two mainly. I probably can't even afford watch dogs and gta for a long time, so I mainly want to focus on battlefield and crysis.

My monitor is an old 1280 x 1024, and isn't 16:9 aspect ratio, and I will be using it at 60hz, but if I can max games out, I will be able bump it up to 75hz. do you think that it is worth doing this build:

rather than this build:
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/MgjmK8
for the extra couple fps in battlefield and crysis? I also understand that as for build options, I will be using radeon hardware, that I will be able to use the mantle api for more fps, and less cpu stress. Is it worth using the mantle api rather than directx 11?

I think the FX is best for you, but I'd change the cooler and motherboard slightly:

This actually comes out the same price as the i3 build, but for outright performance this cpu + mobo combo is going to win for BF4 + C3 multiplayer. The raijintek cooler is easier to mount than the evo, slightly cheaper, and runs slightly cooler under load too. Between this and the UD3P you should get up to 4.5ghz and maybe a little more. Change the case though - the 200r is too small and too hot imo. The deepcool tesseract and Enermax Ostrog both offer better cooling for a similar price.

As for mantle, I have no experience with it at all.

Why not drop abit off your build and buy a monitor. There is really no point upgrading your PC this much if your stuck on a 2003 resolution! :)

How about this?

NEW monitor, 60fps at high/ultra gaming still, OS... I recommend you do this and upgrade from that tiny monitor.
