It's basically the 2014 lineup. From memory it's

G3240
G3258
i3-4150
i3-4160
i5-4460
i5-4590
i5-4690
i5-4690k
i7-4790k

That said, you can often buy older chipset boards that have the latest BIOS updates applied (with a sticker on the box saying which revision it's at) and it can just be a simple case of asking the seller to check :)

recently did a b85 / 4460 build that worked right out of the box for this very reason

Just to add information, my setup, i3 4370, r9 270x will not max out all games on ultra/high at 1080p, r9 280x will be needed for that.

Spending extra on a processor that wont be utilized is a waste imo, i still stand on the i3 and r9 280 setup.

AMD should not be an option because its a dead socket, 5% better performance in games with no upgrade path is not worth it if you have to buy a new platform in 2 years.

I think that I will get the better pc, with the i5 and r9 280. And I will upgrade my monitor later.

That i3-4340 is in store pick up only I think. Don't worry if there isn't a CC near you, any i3-4xxx will do.

The difference between the 41xx and 43xx is the onboard graphics are better on the 43xx, but as you're using a graphics card this shouldn't matter to you.

Other than that the build looks solid :)

The i3 4340 is cheaper than any other i3, and I live near a store where I can pick it up

Do you know if Team makes good ram? I am thinking of using Team Vulcan ram. It seems to get amazing reviews on Newegg, and it s only $75 for 8 gigs. also, is the i5 4440 any better any better than the i5 4460? The 4460 is a bit cheaper than the 4440.
Thank you

no difference between 4440 and 4460 really, although 4460 is newer so your H81 motherboard MAY need a BIOS update before it would work with a 4460

As for RAM - there are only like 4 ram manufacturers on the planet, so all ram comes from one of those 4 OEMs regardless of brand :)

Thank you

Is it worth the extra money

It's up to you. I barely use my dvd drive these days - maybe once every other month, and that's usually burning something to disc.

That said, it's so cheap that its better to have one and not need it than need one and not have it right?

Ok thanks

Is the gtx 960 worth getting over the r9 280? I know that I will be upgrading to windows 10, and I want to know if there will be much of a difference in Windows 10 between Directx 11 and 12. The new Geforce card has Direcx 12 rather than the radeon's Directx 11Thank you.

By the time directx12 is used by alot of games, a gtx 960 will be obsolete anyways.

Thank you.
