Hi
i would like to buy AMD processor and compatable mother boarad.

Purpose: Need to run 5 virtualmachines for practise purpose.( Sharepoint server 2010 and Active directory testing purpose).

people are recommending to go for AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Processor 1090T for processor.what is the best mother board for the above processor.

please suggest me any alternative configeration.Purpose is for virtualization (need to run 5 VMs ) .

This is one of those rare moments wehere I get to say 'go bulldozer' lol.
Get a bulldozer based optron, best bang for the buck for home/small business virturalization.... and possibly large business as well, but I am not that familiar with such setups.

I'm using old Phenom II X6 1055T @3.5Ghz for my MCITP certification. I have to say, the performance is more than acceptable.

If you are going to run five VMs, you need at least 8GB of RAM, assuming you run each VM @ 1GB of RAM. I'm not sure about SharePoint Server 2010 memory requirment but for Exchange 2010, you need 2GB for each VM.

IMO, if you want to get the best performance, you will need a SSD or Harddisk in RAID 0, 5 or 10 because the more VM you run, the more harddisk I/O usage.
