[SOLVED] Best Bang-For-The-Buck CPU and GPU combo?

Ive made a lot of bang for the buck PC configurations in the past but I know everyone has different tastes and opinions. If you were tasked to find the best price to performance GPU and CPU combo, what would you choose?

The best bang for buck combo currently is Ryzen 3600 + RX 5700. I don't know if there can really be a discussion over this...
If someone wants to bring AMD's gpu drivers into question, then Ryzen 3600 + RTX 2060/Super.

Looking at todays prices on PCPartpicker. Most likely a Ryzen 3700x with a GeForce 2070 or Radeon 5700 XT. If it weren't for the next gen consoles using 8-core CPU. I'd choose the Ryzen 3600.

I reckon the ryzen 2600 and the 5700xt, the 2600 is £40 less in the uk (33% cheaper) than a 3600, a 5700xt can be had for less than £350.

For £600 you can do cpu, GPU, 16gb ram and motherboard and have a system capable of 1440p 100htz+

Insane value for money - the only issue is a half decent psu is now above £100, swings and roundabouts.

What is your budget?

For a gaming build, plan on budgeting about 2x the cost of the processor for the graphics card.
For example, a $130 i3-10100 could pair with a GTX1660 class card/
Ryzen 3700x or i5-10600K Might go well with a RTX2070 class card.

I would say it used to be the 5700 when it was selling for 320$, right now at 359$ you are better off buying the XT version for 20$ more.

Wouldn't surprise me if those just 20USD more XTs you're referring to are the same ones that flopped gpu thermal tests for one reason or another, and retailers are selling 'em that cheap to try and get rid of them.
Those toasters frankly aren't worth the trouble, and it'll cost even more to fix - if it's fixable. Plus, not everyone would be comfortable having to open the card up to fix it.
