[citation][nom]sandcomp[/nom]Guys,It is impossible to get $399 (16GB) or $499(32GB) with keyboard. Check below pages, that's the price you get in Taiwan:16GB: $49916GB+KB: $59932GB: $59932GB+KB: $660http://it.oc.com.tw/images/1103/20 [...] 610198.jpg[/citation]
If people assume the keyboard is included then think again. When I listed $399 (16GB) and $499 (32GB) in my earlier post, it was just for the tablet. The added keyboard will probably run between $99 and $149. That said, I'm still probably going with the 32GB version and the keyboard. Total cost may come to $599 to $649 but it is still the best value I can find.
I've been researching tablet options for a couple of months now. Excluding iPad (which I won't go with for my own personal reasons), the Asus Transformer is ahead of the other android offerings.
Asus has a solid reputation with good customer satisfaction. I own several of their products already with no complaints. The Transformer gets 9.5 hours of battery life. The keyboard (with its additional battery) bumps that up to 16 hours. The tablet has 1 Micro-SD slot. The keyboard has additional ports (2x USB 2.0; 1x SD Card Reader).
I keep seeing arguments about this NOT being a notebook. If that has to be stated then it is the person making that statement that is clueless, not the person they are trying to enlighten. It's not a notebook (which is more powerful) and it's not a smartphone (which is much smaller). It is the middle ground that many people have been asking for (myself included). If you fail to see the usefulness of a tablet, then this isn't the product for you. 'nuff said.
I know I'm starting to sound like an Asus lackie, but as I said.. ..I've done my homework. Is this tablet right for everyone? Can't say. Some may prefer a smaller format or different configurations. For me, it's a good fit.
