I want to upgrade my cpu my buget is 160 the current cpu i have is a ryzen 1300x my pc specs are rx580 gpu 16 gb ddr4 ram my motherboard is a ab350m asrock i will be changeing the motherboard as well but was just wondering what cpu to go with in terms of use i will be using it for gaming and want to know whats the best cpu for the price

Solution
Look for Ryzen 5 2600, 2600X or 3600, whichever you can find in your budget. Without knowing more about it most b350 mATX motherboards would be shaky running an 8 core so even if you find a 2700 in your budget I just wouldn't until you get the new motherboard to handle it.

Also, make very sure your board is updated to latest BIOS before swapping CPU and that it even has one for Zen2 before settling on a 3600. Follow all the BIOS update notes as Asrock often requires sequential updates to get it right.

well i am buying an new motherboard along with the cpu like i wonder would the 3300x be a good upgrade over the 1300x

Ryzen 1300x is 4c/4t. 3300x is 4c/8t so it will be better than 1300x. However, getting Ryzen 5 2600 is better deal. 3300x is $130. Ryzen 5 2600 is 6c/12t for $140. You should update the bios for your motherboard and then get Ryzen 2600. It is much better than 3300x.

Tnx bec I looked up benchmarks and the 3300x was out performing the 2600 so I just presumed 3300x was better I'm just confused why it got more fps on games then the 2600 did ? Since the 2600 is apparently better like I don't get it?? Any clarification

You are right that 3300x is better than Ruzen 5 2600 is gaming at this moment. However, if you plan streaming or a few years from now, more games will require more cores/threads, it will be at a disadvantage. If you can, probably jump to Ryzen 5 3600.
