Anyone have a prefrence for a good BIOS backup battery?

I really do not know. Perhaps you might be able to check out some reviews on
the world wide web. Maybe try googling. I would probably go with the most
expensive battery.

I suppose one would need to analyze the life expectancy of their mainboard
to determine if a long lasting high quality bios battery is overkill or not.
If one is frequently upgrading to new cpu/socket interfaces the need for a
cutting edge battery may be unnecessary.

I doubt there is much difference. I saw them at Wal-Mart or someplace
common like that. I would just get some name brand battery.

These are not just used in MB BIOS applications.

They are in many (GM anyway) remote car openers.

Why not try someplace with a likely high turnover?

No, I think they are all pretty much the same. I've seen them last
5-10 years, so I pay no attention to brand.
