Don't know what categories to put this under but I am looking for a good PC Game controller For Crysis 2 wondering if you got any suggestions I herd the Xbox 360 controller works on PC is this a good choice.
I have a Logitech Dual Action but its crap it does not work in GTA sanandraes & Bioshock 1 and pinnacle game profiler did not help one bit so I am looking for a controller that is Compatible with %99 of all or most PC games & I here that the Micro$soft Xbox 360 controller works quite well with most games is this true & how good is it rely on PC games or is there something better then it.
Apparently there is allot of people out there with the same problem thanks.

Solution

Yeah, a controller is definitely best for a...
Well would it be easier to use a 360 controller for game like Crysis or would it be better to use the Keyboard \ mouse I also Play GTA San Andres on my computer witch I use to play on my old PS2 and id rather use a controller for that game that is set the same as my old PS2's controller was. So I bought a Logitech dual action controller witch is nothing more then a practical copy of a PS2 controller only to find that GTA does not work with the it neither does Crysis nor does Counter strike & CS source it seams most PC game are best configured to use the keyboard & mouse just like you all said. But I want a controller that has the best compatibility with most PC games so what would it be.

Well, technically 100 is only 1 significant figure and actually has a lot of room for error, the same as 1x10^2. If you want 100., you have to add the decimal. All this confusion is owed to the fact that pop society ignores the details. Its like the stupid surveys you always hear on the news that claim +-3% accuracy, but turn out to be completely off. That is because it is only +-3% if the underlying assumptions are correct, which they cannot be exactly and if they are wrong by a lot, the whole analysis was garbage.

You are correct, the zeros are place holders in that case. Though this is where semantics comes into play, as often the decimal is implied. I've found that students have a hard time understanding that 100001 would be 6 sig figs where as 111110 is only 5 yet 111110. is 6. (Plus, isn't it annoying to ahve 100. in the middle of a sentence! lol) Thus I usually request that at any time one wants to be sure to get across the correct precision to a reader, use scientific notation. Generally I consider anything else as informal. At any rate, I've never really cared to much if people assume I am being less precise than I intend to be. I've only run into issues when folks yell at me when I am more precise than i should be. That being the case, the kids now know that thier lab reports better have scientific notation more often than not :). Of course, I can't think of the last time I did an experiment were I wound up with a string of significant trailing zeros.

Anyway,

rhamutap, I am not inferring that there is no room for error. I never was. It was you who do not understand the situation and asume 100% leaves no room for error. There is always room for error, as it would be impossible for me to present a degree of precision in a numerical value that leaves out all possibility for error, that is how numbers work (at least in physics)

Compatability is dependant on teh drivers for teh pad. Usually logitech is good at this but not always. THere is no sure way to get suoprt except for a keyboard and mouse. Everything else will be hit and miss. Though a 360 made for windows controller will probably be among the best.

Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers are fully emulated now. I got my PS3 drivers from http://www.motioninjoy.com/ and used the guide here: http://www.hardcoreware.net/how-to-playstation-3-controller-64-bit-windows-7-vista/

But I do not support using a controller for a FPS, it is blasphemy!!!

Yeah, a controller is definitely best for a game like GTA. Driving with a mouse simply sucks in comparison. But for first person shooters definitely mouse/keyboard all the way.
Logitech is pretty good but annoyingly MS has been paying off companies to make games basically only work properly with the 360 controller. Or I assume so because it makes no sense otherwise.

The only time I prefer non mouse/KB is in driving and flying games (though I have used a car wheel in Tie Fighter when my gameport joystick broke; better than the KB/mouse, but still a difficult experience (but it worked!)). I try a PS2 controller in a FPS once, and i don't understand how people do it, as I couldn't aim worth anything. I guess that is why they make console shooting games easier than the old PC only ones.

I skipped a bit of the last posts so apologies if its been said but rounding up is mathematically correct anyway. When working equations you would these days be using a scientific calculator (well i do ) These tend to have prescience for BODMAS which will include rounding up so from a technical mathematical point of view daedalus685 is correct to round up. If you were doing a PHD and didnt you would fail.

I use my 360 Controller for GTA 4 on my PC. My buddy picked up the 360 controller and started to play Crysis with it. I shook my head in disgust. I tried it and it felt like I was in slow mo. Mouse + keyboard is the only way, in my opinion, to play FPS games.

some games good with keyboard and mouse similar with crysis.but call of duty series always good with xbox 360 controller.i play crysis with key and mouse and other fps on xbox 360controller
