WTF is up with the Asus stands? All these gaming monitors have obnoxious stands but did they really need to go full retard with that non-symmetrical design? I refuse to look at a head trip like that all day. Dammit I wish these gamer designs would get some class, they'd be good products otherwise. All of it, cases, fans, coolers, keyboards, mice, chairs, even desks dammit! Get off my grass!
Yeah, I don't know exactly what percentage of PC Gamer's are 12 year old boys, but they need to stop marketing and designing products with that demographic exclusively in mind. I can get rid of the stands and use a VESA wall mount, but I'm still stuck with the word "PREDATOR" in Transformer Autobot Font splashed across my monitor bezel in my otherwise classy office. It's embarrassing.
And you're right...it's prevalent in everything from chairs to mice and other accessories which have graphic details or lights that are pointless and superfluous at best, and distracting and stupid looking at worst.
At least the makers of computer cases are finally starting to get a clue (THANK YOU Fractal Design).
Hmmm. VESA mount. Good idea. Hadn't occurred to me in my rage state. I feel you on Fractal Design! In fact, I have a new R6 blackout edition in the living room waiting for my current 2600k system to get transplanted to it. And I plan to spray paint the chrome feet black too. Current case is a Silverstone FT02, also very subdued and will soon be the home of a new Ryzen 3700x system. I understand it's all subjective, but thank God some manufacturers still have nice, clean aesthetics.
What a coincidence...I just last week finished my new build into a Define R6 Blackout edition that I bought months ago until I got around to transitioning from my Silverstone FT03 (trashcan form factor, but looks and worked great).
I went VESA wall mount to free up the top of my desk (of course the back of your desk needs to be up against a wall for that to work...but they also have versions which attache to your desk instead of the wall).
If you go that route, I highly recommend the EchoGear:

I've tried a few (stay away from the Trip Lite, and pay attention to weight limits). EchoGear put a huge amount of thought into this product and it really shows.
