Best GPU compatible with GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3

Hi,

I have been having some issues trying to upgrade my PC. Current build is:

Power Supply: Corsair CX600
Motherboard: GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3
CPU - AMD FX 8350 Black edition
Ram - 2 X 4gb Kingston DDR3
Hard Drive - SSD
GPU - GTX 460 I think - Its been a while and I don't currently have it.

The Reason I don't have my GPU is because a friend kindly leant me his GTX960 so I could play games with him and I leant him my old one so he could at least use the PC he took his 960 out of.

I recently upgraded my motherboard to the GIGABYTE 78LMT-USB3 and since doing so have found out that none of the GTX 900 series graphics cards work with it - due to no PCI 2.0 support I think. Im not too sure on that.

What I could do with some help on is finding out what graphics cards would be supported by my motherboard, especially considering its PCI 2.0. Ideally I would like it to be as good as possible so if there are a few options, please let me know.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Every modern PCIe x16 gfx card should work with that board. No matter the PCIe version (PCIe is backward compatible). The GTX 900 series too.

Agreed, a 960 should work with that system no problem. PCIE is backwards compatible like said above, a PCIE 2.0 card will work in a 3.0 slot and vice versa.
