Best GPU for 1080p

Hi guys i would like to know what's the best GPU to play 1080p gaming on ultra 60 fps, im planing to play games like witcher 3 fallout 4 etc

Gtx 970 seems to fit the bill and the most recommended card for ultra settings 1080p.

but im affraid only one gtx 970 will not run witcher 3 ultra+HairWorks on 60fps :/

r9 390 would work better. it is also cheaper in the USA if you live there

Yeah... i forgot to tell, but i live in portugal and here they are about the same price ~400€

i only plan to do 1080p 60fps gaming, should i be looking to gtx 970 sli or a single gtx 980 or even a gtx 980ti?

also how good would do a r9 390x?

The r9 390x is little weaker than the gtx 980. But has more ram that should be helpful in the future. you don't need 2 970s if you are only doing 1080p. If money is not a factor go for the gtx 980 or r9 390x. The directx 12 benchmarks appears to favor AMD. If electricity becomes the issue, go Nvidia.

980ti and sli 970 perform pretty similarly and the gtx 980 lags far behind. I would take 980ti if possible as the 6 vram will come in handy for the really demanding games. The 390x is faster than gtx 970 but slower than 980. Gtx 980ti and sli 970 are most over kills for 1080p resolution.

i used 1 gtx 980 ti for 1080p at ultra with gameworks in witcher 3 i got 60-80 fps now i have to gtx 980 ti in sli for 1440p they are giving me 70-90 fps in witcher 3 and don't get 970 in sli because if you sli them 980 ti performs better and don't buy any amd card because if you like gameworks

So what exact settings were you running? I ask because I wish to see if there is any truth to your post.
