Currently i am torn in figuring out what could be the best GPU for my Ryzen 7 1700 system. I am looking to upgrade my CPU in the future, but for now i would like to upgrade my
GPU. Money isn't too much of an issue and the only cards I have in mind is a 5700XT, a RTX 2070, or maybe wait a few weeks for the RTX 3070.

My Specs:
  • OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
  • Motherboard: MSI X370 SLI PLUS
  • GPU: AORUS RX 580 8 GB
  • CPU: Ryzen 7 1700
  • RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB 3000MHz (2x8GB)
  • PSU: Corsair RM850x
  • HDD: Toshiba DT01ACA100 1 TB
  • SSD: Samsung 860 EVO 500GB
  • Monitor: LG 1080P and AOC 1080P

At 1080p all of these cards would be a waste of money with this CPU. You should either buy a higher resolution monitor or a new CPU. You probably wont be able anyway to buy RTX 3000 GPU's until next year (at least at a price close to MSRP). Also your X370 most likely will not support ZEN 3 CPU's but the prices of the 3rd gen ryzen will drop. I would wait and get a Ryzen 9 3900X / Ryzen 7 3800X for a lower price after the release of Ryzen 5000 and an RTX 3070 at a normal price.

I was thinking about buying a R7 3700X maybe after the 3070 releases and then putting it in my current build. Also as for my mobo, I'm going to start saving to prepare for a new build that I'm going to work on next year for the new zen series.

The best one you can afford that is available. Or, wait until a 3070/3080/3090 is available and affordable.
Use it, until you can transplant it into the new system you'll build with a new hotrod CPU.

Yeah, i had that idea in mind. Buying a 3070 and then getting a R7 3700X within about 2 weeks just so i won't have a bottleneck. Afterwards i'll work on a new build for next year.
