Im looking for a graphics card to run games like fifa 15 which requires a high graphics card. What would the best be that my pc can handle. Btw the minimum is geforce gtx 650.

My Specs:
Core i5 3.10ghz
8gb Memory
1TB HardDrive
300w of power
Windows 8.1
PCI-e x 16

Solution
For most modern GPUs you'll need, at the very least, a PSU upgrade.

300w is not enough to operate most modern GPUs. The GTX 650 alone is happiest with a 400w PSU.

A faster card will need a more powerful PSU.

This chart lists the PSU type needed for a card at maximum load:

Based on what GPU you decide on you'll need a PSU of that wattage with those connector types.

Apart from that, the rest of your rig looks solid and nicely future proofed.

Do I buy a PSU with 400 w or go for a 450 or 500 w PSU

Also are there any cards better than the 650 that would work with 400w?
Thanks

With a 650w PSU you could comfortably run anything up to a GTX 780 or R9 290. Those are both set to fall in price over the coming weeks / month due to the 900 series of Graphics cards from Nvidia being released.

It all depends on your budget and what you want to run in your rig.

If you check the link provided in the last post it informs you as to the PSU requirement of the Graphics Card you choose to run.

Buy the fastest card your budget can afford after factoring the price of the PSU.

Here's a guide on how to install a PSU:

What is a good price for a 650 w power supply? Im trying to stay under 200$AUD aprox. 100£

The XFX 650w is a nice piece of equipment. I don't know about regional pricing but it should be well under your budget.

This thread discusses your exact question:
