I am upgrading my pc and was wondering what would be the best grahics card my pc can handle under €500.

Current build:
HKC 4672GD Mini Tower
PSU: will upgrade to whatever is necessary (does not effect €500 budget)
Asus MAXIMUS VII GENE S1150 Z97 MATX (I am gonna buy this one)
Intel Core I7 3770 3.4GHz LGA1155
PATRIOT PV38G160LC9KG 8GB 1600 MHz C9 1.35V V3
Seagate 1TB SATA 6 Gbps 64MB buffer
INTEL SSD 330 series SATA3 60GB

(if you see anything else that you should do different fel free to notify me)

Solution
Your system can support a very good graphics card.

I would save your money and stick with a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming, this performs +/-10% to a GTX 980 but for a little over half the price, excellent value for what you pay and defiantly worth the price. The GTX 980 however is not really a worthwhile investment.

PROBLEM: That motherboard does not support that CPU. You need an LGA 1155 Board to run the i7 3770.

You cannot have a Maximus VII gene with your x77 Intel Chip if you did not know this already

I don't think AMD has dropped the prices of the R9 series at the release of the GTX 900 series. So it really isn't worth it to buy the R9 290/290x as of today 😛 They would have to drop the prices at least 35% to make it worth the purchase! They would need to make the R9 290x at $290 And the R9 290 at $230 or so.

I'm very sorry I did not see this at the top of the board. I'm sorry for my ignorance.

If you want you can get an ASUS MAXIMUS V GENE since it is lga 1155

That was the 1 I was originally going for but I can´t find it on any site that delivers here in Holland.

Yeah even in Canada they are hard to find. You don't have to get an ROG board to get enthusiast quality however I still am going to buy it for color. MSI and ASUS are amazing quality so choose one from there company.(I know ROG is ASUS) Best of luck with a new GPU and otherboard shopping!!
