what is the best graphics card for my computer. just want one that will perform well as I do very little gaming. intel Pentium 4 cpu 3.00 GHz 3.12 gb usable ram 32 bit operating system using windows 7 ultimate.............thanks in advance
Your CPU is over a decade old so matching it with a modern graphics card is difficult. Even with casual gaming I'm sure your CPU will be a bottleneck on any modern GPU. Maybe an AMD R7 260 or an nVidia GTX750ti would be suitable for your needs but even with those cards I think the CPU will struggle. If I'm honest I think the best idea would be an AMD APU based system, you get a CPU and a GPU on one die with performance which I think will be good for you if you only do a small amount of gaming. You could get an APU and motherboard for relatively little, although you'll need some decent RAM too.
It's a little outdated my friend, the single core CPU's (assuming yours is a single core, if not it's still pretty outdated) are about as obsolete as a wind up brontosaurus feeder. I don't know if there are any modern GPU's that will work with that. I think it's time for a new computer.
I faced the same thing as you not even a month ago. Had an old dell with an old Duo Core intel CPU. Now im running a GTX 970, 8 gigs of ram, etc. I know this is tough to hear, but it's time for a new computer. Any money put towards a new GPU for any cause would be wasted in the worst way.
