The GK104 chip is the same as the GK110 ?

Well, as I live and breathe, I learn something new every day.

P.S.
The performance increase will NOT be less than 5%, and could be as much as 10% (given the right cooling solution by the manufacturer [I hope it isn`t the usual way NVidia do it] and they get Asus in on the deal).

QED
Accoding to the law of averages, it seems we have an intellectual contest here.

It's kinda unfair to call it a lie but I agree with your sentiment.

I got a XFX HD7950 DD for $200 back in August. I'm not worthy  and got a 4-game bundle, too.

It's interesting that even though the R9-280x appears a little slower that the GTX 770, the R9-280x is actually one tier higher than the GTX-700. I'm guessing that has to do with price vs performance...

Also, it would be nice if not only did they compare single cards, they would also compare them in SLI/CROSSFIRE configuration...

I'm looking to upgrade from GTX 570 SLI and not sure whether to go either (R9-280x/GTX 770) x2 or a single (GTX-780/R9-290x)... I'm really not affected by the micro-stuttering and i'm only 1920x1080 @ 120Hz gaming for lack of a better monitor atm...

nVidia annnounced a price drop for the GTX 7xx models, so, wait a little more time and maybe you can get a GTX 770 or GTX 780 for a good price, or why not, a R9-280-290x

I'm actually not going to do anything until early next year but thanx for the heads up... It'll be interesting to see how much the price cut will be on the GTX-770...

For major price shifts like what Nvidia just pulled, I could see making an update. Minor price shifts, monthly is fine. That being said, we are only 2 days from November. They could just update this on Friday with the new pricing and label it best for November. If Nv responds with another major price shift after the R9 290 benches and price are official, then they would have ample time to update it.

A snapshot (e.g. this article, or anybody's) will never accurately describe a moving target (e.g. the market) into the future.
Decide what performance tier you need to be on (considering that your games may be represented perfectly there, or may include outliers that make a huge difference), and then buy based on price at the time of purchase.
Don, you might put a double line between the nVidia and AMD columns, representing that for a given game, the columns may need to slide a space or two one way or the other.

I'm glad at least one other person understands.

I waited to see if the NVidia product prices would drop on a GTX 780 I had in my Amazon-product shopping basket here in Japan... :bounce:
But... 🙁

ASUSTeK NVIDIA GTX780チップセット オリジナルFAN「DirectCuII」搭載グラフィックカード GTX7... PRICE HAS INCREASED from ¥ 74,980 ($750) to ¥ 86,882 ($868)
As you see; the price went up from $750 US to $868. :ouch:
WTF
PRICES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE COMING DOWN.
ALSO
An NVidia version GTX 780 price got jacked up a bit also
GALAXY社製 NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 GPU搭載ビデオカード (オーバークロックモデル) GF PGT... has increased from ¥ 78,632 to ¥ 78,637
:na: Amazon.jp Ya carpetbagging creeps.

I am forced to guess its because Battlefield 4 is out; that the UBER-CAPITALIST-PIGS jack up the prices; and it seems to be a trend of anything specific that people buy over here.
e.g.
I noticed last month that when I bought a ASUS VG278H 3D monitor from Amazon and found out its great (and gave FEEDBACK to that effect [Product is Great value]); when you go to order two more a few days later, they jack up the price almost 10%. :pfff:
The ASUS GTX 780 went up Over 10%.
:??:
I guess thats why the economy stagnated in Japan; because people will not buy or work-to-buy products that get jacked up in price as you buy them. Its called DE-MOTIVATION. :kaola:

I even went to NEWEGG in China to try and buy, but they dont deliver to Japan either. Prices there looked real cheap. and I trust the NEWEGG brand a bit.

Stuck.
:ange:
But still got patience, the GTX 780 Ti is out real soon.... but the money is heating my pocket up sumthin rotten as BF4 is in the post. 😉

Amazon.jp are completely unable to corner me.

Anyone out there know a company that will post a GTX 780 type graphics card to Japan? 😍

I can do that, but would be a little expensive from my country to Japan.

It`s ok, you can just sent it Without the funny little leaves and talc. :ange:

No, seriously, experienced PC dude, I will have to bide my time and see what happens this week with the Ti version being released. Hopefully sanity will prevail.

Or my wife will be grinding her teeth in her sleep if I go overboard. 😉

Battlefield 4 is at the doorstep in 7 days here.

My new build i7 Sabertooth Asus 27-inch 3D rig is patiently waiting for a GTX 780 with confidence.

Hope life is nice there in C.
It looks nice.

I'm quite surprised the GTX 660 wasn't in your list! but that GTX 650 Ti makes me wish I had looked at it some more before getting the 660... or atleast get the 660 Ti 3 GB

I have a GTX650Ti now. If it were a Boost Edition, it might be enough, but it just misses the performance and settings preferences I have. While it is absolutely a "sufferable" card, overall the jump to a HD7870 is significant, so that's what I'm running. If someone is building a budget rig though, a GTX650Ti Boost would be a comfortable card.

Ended up buying the iChill GeForce GTX 780 HerculeZ X3 Ultra. The price dropped the equivalent of over $100 USD as I was pondering buying it. 😀

Triple slot and very cool at full-on gaming. I cant get it over 52 Deg C with anything yet. Three days of trying.

Battlefield 4 arrives within two days. That will stretch its legs.

Its a bit of a modern Maserati of a GTX 780. Luv it. It`s long though. Had to take off a bit of plastic clips from the side of the Drive-bay housing on a full ATX case.

Makes a change from the HD7770 Crossfire. Sat gathering dust.

I am pondering whether to add a second 660Ti in SLI (mobo and PSU already capable) or going for a single stronger card
the second 660Ti would cost close to $300 USD new

anybody have any links to a good 660Ti SLI benchmark review?
