This is retarded! Toms hardware apparently sucks at giving advice! Recommend the weak R7 260X and the 750, And absolutely no mention of the R7 265 or R9 270 that you can buy just as cheap! You can tell they put a fat guy on this one! Did not want to do the work, Or bother looking at prices, or performance. Lazy idiot just took a guess and called it a day, and got a dozen hot dogs.

They're also many cards matched that don't make much sense.
Look at the 650 Ti boost and the 750 Ti, it's telling me that it's a tier lower than a 4870x2? or a gtx 480? wow wtf ??? they're articles on guru , tech or here that clearly shows these cards pwning them. + isn't a 6870 a bit faster than the 4870x2 in today's standards? C'mon... im so disapointed

i think they simply added their concerns to the car's prices to this new chart than before, im really disapointed how misleading these gpu's are matched....

This is pretty true, though I don't agree with it 100% I still think it's almost spot on. I would have to say that the best (High End) gaming GPU is still the AMD R9 290. Since most of them come with a OC already on it and as long as you are somewhat tech savvy, you can furthermore OC the GPU.

Some of the top reasons I would go with the AMD R9 290 agian are...
FreeSync *This will be later in the year but is still great*, Mantle *It's already great and getting better*, TureAudio, Crossfire gives a true performance boost unlike you know... and the price is right. I don't feel as if I'm getting ripped off.

Just look at the 780's and the prices of them.

If you want a good single GPU setup go with the 290 or 290X if you have the extra cash. The 290X is only around a few frames per second faster in most games.

Nvidia needs to come down in price before I am going to pay almost $600 for a GPU like the 980. It's a good GPU but not for the price. I run all of my games at 2560x1440 and have no issues with low FPS. And I often stream to twitch as well...

I know there will always be debates about this stuff but you can't be a fanboy or you will end up paying to much money and turn into a hater!, It's not worth it.

Anyway, thats just a allot of fact's and my opinion.

I just picked up an R9 290 for $245 (although it does include combo deal with RAM). This gives a card that slots nicely between the R9 280 and GTX 970.

They would fit at the very, very, dusty, dark, lonely bottom.

look into the 960. also, you might be able to find a r9 290 for less than 200, do some looking! it will last you longer as games ramp up.

Hope this helps!

The GT 720 is an atrociously bad card.

I agree. Nothing under the GT 730 64bit GDDR5, performance tier, should even be considered for a gaming system.

Yes, and even that's at the very dark bottom.

A week or so ago I nearly twitched on a slightly weaker but similarly priced R7 260X because of the two free games that were included. I think those are up around $110 now, which is still a great deal if you want the games and if the card is powerful enough.

At this point I think I've resigned myself to wait for the 370X ( unless they make a more capable 960 Ti. ) I'm hoping to upgrade to a 21:9 monitor so I'd like the extra graphical muscle to power it.

The 960 seems like a good card for the person that wants good med-high detail on a single 1080 display and nothing else. It's a decent upgrade to the 560 and 660, but nothing newer than that. Considering that's the place most gamers are, I don't think many people who actually get one will be disappointed in it. Considering the active users on this forum tend to have slightly higher spec'd machines ( or act like they do, ) I think many of them will continue to complain about a product that was never meant for them.

so what about the "Intel Iris Pro Graphics 5200/6200/P6300 and Iris Graphics 6100"?

im seeing the Iris Pro 5200 is about 12.5% of the GTX 980

Depends on games being played. LoL can be run on damn near anything. It would do ok, on medium settings in WoW. I have been using my old GTS 450, for WoW, lately.

I am getting a Zotac GTX 770, from a friend, for $120 shipped. 😀
