Best gtx 670 model to get?

I'm looking to purchase a gtx 670, i just can't choose which one as there are so many different models with different prices. I'm from the UK so please don't post us links like newegg Thanks! Also i currently have a 550w psu with an i5 3570k OC to 4.5ghz.. will i need to upgrade my PSU?

I just built it.. i have a spare 550w psu (which i could use) or get another if needed

i5 3570k ~ 4.5ghz
8GB 1600MHz G-Skill RAM
Asrock z77 extreme4 Mobo
Western digi 500GB HDD SATA 3

I'm looking to play games such as league of legends, wow, day z, battlefield 3 on max settings at 60+ fps on 1920x1080 resolution, also occasionally streaming (when i get into it more) and will be getting another monitor maybe soon

around £300, i dont mind going an extra £20-£30 if im getting a good bargain.. im more of an nvidia guy as my past 2 amd products i've had problems with (black screens, etc) but if you want to recommend amd im fine with that 🙂

for 300$ pounds u can get a 7970and overclock it like a beast , that equalizes a 680 anyday and even more.

for 100$ or more less.

MSI PE 670 no doubt, however the problem is that a highend 670 falls into the the 7970 price range. Though at that price range most of the 7970s will be reference by design. If your willing to spend 30-40$ more than you can get a 7970GHz which can be much faster that anything on the market.

As far as longevity goes the 7970GHz will easily outclass that 670 in that respect with more bandwidth and more vram. If you dead set on the 670 than go with the 670 PE as it is an excellent choice!

Just because it has 3 fans doesn't mean its cooler, plus the gigabyte 7970 is voltage locked which is the main reason why I didnt even bring it up.

All you do to get a GHz edition is just download the BIOS off the AMD website, and I dont think it will void your warranty if you do that, plus the card I suggested is a GHZ edition...

Any type of mod will void warranty you will have to check the manufacturers guidelines, are you the only one who can suggest a GHz card? Last time I checked this is a forum with more than just one member!

I am talking about gigabyte gtx 670. It stays at about 50-55 degrees on full load, that is pretty cool to me. Especially in a small case.

Hmm.. that seems a really good price.. how come it isnt 6000mhz effective? And is there no nvidia equivalent to this?

It's the most silent GTX 670 there is and the cooling on it is great.

Here you can see 7 different GTX 670 in comparison. Mind that it's the TOP version of the GTX 670 by ASUS, the normal GTX 670 gets less hot and doesn't have the same stability issues. The GPU comes with a backplate to protect the PCB, it also lowers the temperature a litte and gives you better OC capability.

If you think that the mid 60s celcius as it gets under heavy load are too hot for you, then you can easily bump up the fan speed. Under heavy load the GPU cooler only gets to 30% of usage and at idle it's only at 10%.

GTX 670 is equal to it, or almost.

if u dont want the 7970. the alternative is the 670. but for the price i find the 7970 is the faster performer.
