well how does the seagate one compare, it cost a bit less

From what I've experienced and researched, the Western Digital is more reliable and the black is faster. Seagate won't fail continuously, but like I said, from what I know the WD is a bit of a better option.

I have used 6 different WD Black Drives over the past 2 years and haven't had a single error on any of them. The only Seagate drive I ever used died during a scan and fix plug in....

WD Blacks also have a 5 year warranty. Running 2T at the moment for over 2 years without issues.

It doesn't even have to be black if it's too much money for you, you could choose one level down which would be red, I believe. I'm only using WD Blue and it still gives good performance.

I too almost went for a Barracuda for my first build but people were like "oh noo you gotta buy that WD man!"
