Best HDD and SDD brands?

I am building a new computer and I want to purchace a 500gb HDD to store my files and a 30gb SDD to store my operating system on so that I dont have to invest tons of money into a large SDD. What are the best brands and what statistics should I look for when making this choice? Any model in particular that you recommend? Thanks again

Western digital, Seagate, Samsung and Hitachi on the HDD. Get at a minimum 60GB SSD, Crucial M4 or Samsung 830 are about the most recommended.
