I am putting together a gaming rig and was wondering which cpu would be get the best performance out of the 480. Alot of forums are saying the 2500k, however I don't plan on overclocking. I am leaning towards the 480 because I want to beable to game at high resolutions, is there any other cards in this range I should consider?

well, gtx480 is absolutely good for games but this gpu is a TRUE power hunger, you need to keep it maintain, produce much heat and a noisy gpu, a decent and higher wattage psu could handle this crazy GPU, but i recommend you to go with MSI twin frozr 7850, this one is much better option, run cooler, quiter, faster consume less power, no noise even at maximum load cost you lesser than a GTX 480,
cpu grab an 2500k to crush all the newer games at maximum setting.
