Best mobo to build a gaming pc

I'm planning on building my own pc, buying one component at a time as my budget allows. After weeks of gruelling research I bought the Asus rampage v10 mobo but it's been a while and I'm wondering if that's the best motherboard to go with, I can't remember why I chose it. Rather then spend enormous amounts of time stressing over it, can someone please just tell me what the best motherboard within the two to three hundred dollar range would be?
