Hello guys! I am looking for buying a gaming monitor. Currently I am with RTX 2060 6GB OC PRO and Ryzen 5 2600. The monitor i stopped on and grabbed my attention was Asus VG27AQ. I know that this video wont run great on it but i will upgrade in the upcoming year. What are your thoughts? Is it worth it? And last the monitor is more expensive here it is not 430 like in amazon, it is 600 bucks that makes me think there is better monitor for the price according to my country.

Solution
You are right. But i was wondering if i turn it to 1080p will it be so bad than 1080p monitor.
Not really, you won't see much of a difference than native 1080p, other than the fact that 1080p on 27 inch seems pixelated to me personally .just get the monitor later with the GPU if you're really unsure. One thing you could do is run games at 1080p (in game settings) but everything else at 1440. That way it won't be bad, and you'll actually be able to utilize the 1440
It's not worth upgrading your monitor with a 2060 as a GPU. FHD 144hz is about as high as you can go. Unless you're talking about esports which usually has very different monitor usage. And you should preferably upgrade to an RTX 3070 or higher to actually be able to get 144hz in QHD. The monitor itself is pretty good though so no worries there

Yes that is what i though. But here the price is 600. Is it worth getting it now and playing on it since i upgrade or getting it after the new gpu.

You can always just turn the resolution down to 1080p if 1440p fps is too low. I personally wouldn't pair a 2060 to a 1440p display, unless I was just gonna top out ar 1440p60. Monitor prices aren't exactly changing a lot in my opinion, so you can just buy it when you want

I am gonna have to disagree with you on that one, 1080p on a 1440p screen will look quite a bit worse than on a native 1080p screen even at 27 inches. @op - you can try 900p on a 1080p screen if you've got access to one, 1080p on a 1440- screen will look worse than that for comparison.

Having said that, I agree with your point on pairing a 2060 a 1440p screen, @op, here are th implications,1440p high fps is out of question on most games with a 2060, however, you should be able to hit 60 fps on most games with reasonable settings. you also run the risk of having to upgrade your gpu a lot sooner than you might have to otherwise with a 1080p screen.

Actually when I was saying it, in mind I was thinking of 1080p games on 1440p screen. In my experience, I have ran 900p, 1280×960 on 1080p screens, even 720p just to see fps results. But it wasn't that bad, and I don't think it was worse than native 720p or 900p. Running the d desktop on 720p however....

Thats your perspective I guess, but anything sub native will look noticebly worse than the same resolution on a native screen. I have also personally played 900p on 1080p screens and lower than 768p on 768p laptop screens, they will look noticeably jaggier, the information used to fill half the pixels is going to be used to fill the entire screen, spread information that must be in a single pixel across multiple pixels, if you have access to a 720p screen, justtry that on the native screen and your 1080p, it will be miles worse.

Hmm, I have only done it once. But right now I don't have access to same screen size so rip

Thank you for the disccusion. Probably i wil go with the Asus 1440p 144hz otherwise if i change my mind i will go with the Asus VG278Q but i think 1440p will be better for future upgrade. Im not super maniac on gaming and resolution but with this gpu playing on 1080p 60hz i think its shame😁.

I'd say 144 is great for any kind of gamer, even casual. 240 right now is a waste for anyone who isn't pro gaming imo. So, great choice!
