open to more suggestions

but not sure on which one to go for? I will be looking at perhaps overclocking the CPU and the RAM at some point, and also will need more than less USB ports, i have my Keyboard, Mouse, and a few other USB's in and will also need USB 3.0 for when my VR is on.

Solution
SS are the "super speed" designation, so they are either 3.0, 3.1 or higher, so yes, those would be what you probably want to use for your VR connections. Keyboard and mouse, these work just fine, totally fine, on a USB 2.0 port, but if you have a USB hub that you want to plug in, you probably want to plug that into a 3.0 or higher port unless it's an older USB 2.0 hub.
I wouldn't choose either of them unless there is something specific one of them has that you absolutely need and can't find on another board. Given the prices versus the features, the B550 Tomahawk you have in your PCPP build is probably the better choice of the three in terms of quality and value in combination. The B550-E is a good board, but it's dramatically overpriced IMO. The X570 Gaming doesn't look like a very good choice based on reviews. Especially if you plan to overclock.

I mean the MSI motherboard that the OP mentioned in his post.
There are two of them, so that still doesn't seem too accurate especially considering the X570 Gaming plus isn't particularly attractive as an option. The Tomahawk seems to be the better option if you're going to limit yourself to those three choices.

Better, and seemingly less expensive aside from the more budget oriented Tomahawk, than either of those other two boards, would likely be this.

Thankyou, so overall the https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product...omahawk-atx-am4-motherboard-mag-b550-tomahawk seems like the best option out of all of them? if I wasn't limiting myself to the three choices what choices would you recommend i go for? apart from the board you just sent. And would the b550 tomahawk be suitable for my rig?
Not sure if its able to run more than 1 Nvme slot, for storage? and will need sufficient USB slots.

The Tomahawk supports up to 2 PCIe NVME M.2 drives, six rear panel USB Type A ports plus one Type C rear USB port and a couple of internal USB headers for the case front USB ports. It also has a decent VRM configuration and build quality however it IS a budget board, not a premium choice like the Aorus master, Gaming Pro Carbon or Taichi.

For that configuration the Tomahawk should be fine but really it depends on how much you are willing to spend on a motherboard?

Well, in that price range the Tomahawk is probably at least top three and is likely less expensive than the other two. I've built a few with that board and it gets the job done.
That tomahawk has 5 USB ports and a Usb C port? what is the A ports? are they the same as USB 3.0? as i will need 3.0 for VR etc oh the SS stands for USB 3.0, so it has 3 USB 3.0 ports and 2 usb 2 ports? whats the USB port with the white border round it?
i can get that tomahawk board for £133

"A" ports are your normal USB ports. USB 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.2 x2, these are all "type A" ports. Normal USB port physically. USB "type C" ports are the small port that doesn't matter which way you plug it in. Type A and Type C are merely the physical "Shape" of the port, they don't necessarily have anything specific to do with the throughput or speed. Type A can be just as fast as type C, and visa versa.

On the left, Type C. On the right, Type A. Type A and Type C have literally nothing to do with "speed", specifically, only form factor. For speed, it matters what the device and the port are specc'd to, as in, USB 2.0, 3.1 (There ISN'T any 3.0 anymore, those are now called 3.1 Gen 1), 3.1 Gen 2, 3.2 Gen 1, etc.

so i would plug say my VR or anything that requires a USB 3.0 type into either of the "SS" usbs on that motherboard?
