Question Best option for upgrading memory of an old PC

I have a HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Small Form Factor with an i5 4th gen 4570 processor and 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM.

I find that the onboard graphics card (Intel HD Graphics 4600) is not enough for me - when I edit audio, the scrolling waveform gets choppy.

I figure I need a better graphics card. Unfortunately, I'm on a small budget. What's a somewhat decent card that I can get for cheap?

but even that is tight. a 750 ti is about 55 dollars but equals the 1030s performance and requires much more power

I believe my power supply is 320w.

The 1030 I found on Amazon is PCIE x4 does that make a difference?

I think I found the 750 ti on Amazon, but it doesn't seem low profile.

Why do you think GPU upgrade would impact performance of your audio editing software? It will not.
It mostly depends on cpu and ram performance. GPU doesn't do anything there.

when i zoom in and the wave form is moving across the screen quickly, it gets choppy (even though the audio is smooth). I'm thinking it's the graphics card. I used the same monitor with a laptop that has a dedicated graphics card, and it worked perfectly.
