best slot 1 for oc?

I'm running the classic Celeron 300A at 450MHz. It's been great, but I'd like to upgrade. What was the last great overclockable Slot 1 processer that I can upgrade to?

I might go for a non Slot 1, but I hesitate to spend the extra money on a "Slocket" converter.

a very good package to run would be the pIII 700. <A HREF="http://www.pcnut.com/cool/combo.htm" target="_new">HERE</A> is a link to a company which sells the unit for $199 complete and tested to 933mhz. I just finished upgrading my 300a for a 600 celeron and am running at 927mhz. They also sell the celery kit for $125 but I put my own together for about $100 including shipping. The pIII is probably well worth the extra money. Depending on your setup, the slotkett upgrade can be a real pain. I had molex celeron brackets so I had to pull everything and install the pent. bracket because the slotkett card was in a cartridge. I had to remove the ps fan guard, and the heatsink was still real tight fit. I am quite satisfied with it so far but its only been up for a short while. Be glad to give you any help I can as to where I got stuff from If you need it. good luck

first it would depend on what motherboard you have and what revision it is,if you can tell us that then maybe someone could give a definate answer. dont buy the 700 yet your board may or may not support it.

Thats a good point. His memory may limit him as well.
