Question Best Student Laptop 2020

I am going to university in the fall and wanted a new machine. I currently have a 2013 macbook air and would like an upgrade. I heard that macbooks arent good for university so i started looking at some windows laptops. I have decided between the dell xps 13 2-in-1 (2020), xps 15(2020), and the surface book 3 13'.

I would like a good display (preferbaly higher than 1080p), a long battery life, decent speakers, and a lightweight easy to carry around pc.

The xps 13 and the surface book 3 are compelling because I can put both of them into tablet mode. The xps 15 on the other hand seems to be the best windows competitor to the macbook pro 16' and the xps 15 has raw cpu power. Assuming price is not an issue and i want a laptop that will last me at 5-6 years what should i get?

I'd ask you to look at laptops(as opposed to convertibles/2-in-1's) since they tend to be easier to access the innards when upgrading and also have less failure points since the ribbon cable on the display end does tend to fail over time and scratches on the panels make for horrible tracking.

That being said, mind sharing a link to each of the laptop's(2-in-1 as well) that you've short listed...?

2.size of notebook should be between 13-15 inches
3. any screen resolution higher than 1080p
4.portable laptop
5.batter life than can last about 9 hours
6. i would love to game but its not a necessity. If i were any game from low to medium settings.
7.light photo/ video editing
8.for storage a 512gb ssd at the bare minimum

1. id like to keep the laptop for 5-6 years
2. i do not need an optical drive
