Extract the HDD from your old system, put it in an external USB2 or USB3 enclosure, plug that in your new system and copy away whatever you want to copy.

If the drive from the older machine is a SATA drive then you could try a SATA to USB cable. But, as was already mentioned it will be a slow process if you have a lot of data to copy. I agree that removing the drive from the old system and installing it in the new one would be the fastest and easiest way to go.
WIFI... simply make sure all folders are shared... leave it overnight... use something like http://winmerge.org/ to compare folders after to make sure all is copied and update anything that is missing... but yup, removing the HDD is by far the quickest method...
Thank you all! I will try the wifi 1st as i have both pcs plugged into the router and if that doesnt work then i will try moving the drive to the new pc.
