[SOLVED] Big Problem with the Refresh Rate of My Monitor.

I also have a question on how to set up my monitor. It shows 60 hz but its max is 240 hz and the monitor came with a display cable and i am confused on how to use it because it doesn't fit in any hdmi slots in my desktop. Also my monitor only has one hdmi slot and my desktop has 2 hdmi slots but one of them is connected to the motherboard so if i connected it to that the display wouldn't show up. My monitor is a Dell Alienware AW2518H

You cannot use HDMI for 240 Hz on that monitor. You need to use DisplayPort. If your computer does not have a DisplayPort output then you will not be able to get 240 Hz.

Wait do desktops come with display ports because I have seen many desktops and none of them have display ports. I have also seen the solution to put a hdmi 2 cable into a hdmi 1 slot. Will this work? I just looked up my desktop and it says it has a display port but I cant seem to find it.

iBUYPOWER - Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 - 1TB Solid State Drive - Black/Gray. When I am on the website which I could link it shows there is a display port and I know the simple is the letter d and I can't find that anywhere on my desktop.

The 2070 should have at least two (probably 3) DP connectors. It looks like an hdmi except on corner is square instead of angled.

Are you sure you know what you're looking for? It's looks similar to HDMI.
