I hate Bing, but like anything Microsoft they try really hard to shove it deep down your throat. My Windows Mobile phone wants to default to it, which I changed of course, and Windows too. My inlaws, I've noticed, use it because like most Americans who buy a computer they just use what pops up.

Unfortunately that works great for MS.

I actually like Bing, actually usually I try it first these days and only if I have trouble finding something do I attempt Google. I like the layout better, especially for image searches... of course this is preference but I'm all for choices in search engines and it doesn't cost me anything.

That percentage is so high thanks to that and even then its not actually high at all.

Bing enjoys the reputation as a fine porn surfer, and that alone is going to generate decent numbers.

Rather than run away from the reputation as a porn surfer, which we all know is disingenuous anyway, they may as well keep building on it and keep improving the porn searching.

Porn is one of those things that no one else is supposed to like, but, it's somehow OK if you watch it. The hypocrisy is annoying, and I'm just not believing that Microsoft never put any thought into how well Bing searched for porn. Of course they did, it's only sensible since they care about increase share, and it's a large market. They'd be negligent to dismiss it.

If someone comes out with a browser named "Porn Surfer", they'd get a quick jump in market share. Internet Explorer? Dull and prosaic. Firefox? Stupid. Opera? What's the connection? Safari? Same. Chrome? Why name it out of an ugly, shiny metal that tasteless people are attracted to?

Microsoft Porn Surfer. It's got a nice ring to it. Tie it into Bing, and make Bing ask questions like "The search results have returned some listings that are not adult material. Do you still want to view them?". And issue warnings when porn material is rated dull by other viewers, etc...

It's worth a shot.

Microsoft has thrown enough money into their search engine that they're bound to get some users. But no amount of money can make Bing into a verb 'to search'. Or maybe they can? I'll go google it to find out.

I actually kind of like Bing. Especially the bing cashback thing. It's a good deal. I must admit I still use Google most of the time though.

Search engine usage matters far more than browser usage. It's advertising dollars.

same thing can be said about FireFox and Chrome, what do you expect?! do you really expect Microsoft/Google makes Google/Bing its default search provider?!

+1 for that. Images and video are way easier to search through using Bing.
Isn't Yahoo! search suppose to be turning into Bing search anyway?
