Question BIOS is zoomed in a lot ?

Hey guys I have the ASUS M5A97 Motherboard along with the amd fx 6350 cpu and amd r7 260x graphics card. If I go onto the bios from setup, it is really zoomed in, how do I change this? Thanks

Zoomed in? You mean you have to scroll sideways to see it all? Can you post a pic of what it looks like?

Try going into the advanced bios and see if it looks more normal? if it does, you can change it to alwasy boot into advanced mode so you won't have to see that again, but it is an odd "bug" I would like to see some pics of it as well.

Sorry for late reply but I went into advanced and it is the same, zoomed in to the top left corner. I'll post a picture in a second

I think it is some sort of driver issue, its like it picks a resolution, but tries to use a different aspect ratio Try updating (or downdating) the gpu drivers and see if that fixes anything.

Yes, that is definitely not right. Along with the display driver giving you issues, I'd wonder if the card was defective.
1) Did this just start happening, or has it been like this before the driver was installed?
2) How are you connected between card and monitor?

Try uninstalling the AMD catalyst pkg, everything associated with it. Reboot, let Win7 install its own driver, then reboot to BIOS and see if it still is the same.

I have only just bought the PC so it's a new graphics card and I am connected through HDMI cable to TV monitor

Do uninstall all amd drivers/app/programs related to teh video card and do a fresh install... I think you got a bug in the driver somewhere.

Oh, an HDTV? I wonder if it isn't the TV that is having issues adjusting to BIOS resolution. Although, the HDTV SHOULD adjust OK. Doesn't mean it can however. I presume everything looks normal once in Windows?
Can you try the PC on a true monitor?

I had the same thought but I figured if it were still trying to run at 1080 with a 800x600 signal it would be extra tiny? or do I have that backwards?

My resolution is 1920 x 1080 still at 60htz and 1080p so i'm unsure what the problem is

When you're in bios the computer isn't at 1080P on the computer, he's thinking that is causing an issue if the tv isn't adjusting down. I still say remove,reinstall all drivers related to the card.

I'm not sure. If the card is outputting the wrong signal, then the TV may not be able to underscan enough to compensate. On the otherhand, the signal may be correct, but the TV is overscanning.

OP: If you don't have a monitor to test with, try the analog (VGA) connection between TV and card. See if the result is the same.

The Windows driver isn't even loaded when at POST/BIOS. When I suggested uninstalling the driver earlier, I assumed it was an issue with Windows also.

Have you tried a different monitor? And other suggestions I made above?

There is no VGA slot and I have not got another monitor but only more TVs i am afraid

I have a feeling it is an issue with that HDTV. The Windows (AMD) driver isn't even loaded when you are in BIOS because Windows isn't loaded yet. You are using the BIOS driver for video. So I can't imagine it being the AMD driver that is at fault. I apologize for not thinking about that sooner.
Can you get another card to test with? Try a different HDMI port on the HDTV?

Even though i completely reinstalled the drivers, it crashed again, went blue screen and memory dumped so something is definitely not right

Aha! Now we might be getting somewhere. Where exactly, I'm not sure... lol. Did it crash in Windows? Or at the BIOS?

Now, I'm leaning towards the card being the issue... kinda anyway. But without another card to test with, it is a moot point. And the MB has no integrated video, either. Know anyone who'll loan you their card to test with?

It's your screen not being compatible with the Asus UEFI bios so that's why it's zoom in.
This same problem will also happen if you connect it to a CRT monitor.
You'll have to connect it directly to another LCD monitor.
Try a DVI connector and see if that works.
