I see that my problem relies on the fact that the bios seems to see my raptor as a via vt 6420. under the hard disk area. Is this why I can not install windows on it? If this is the problem how do I make the bios see it as a WD 740. I know it's supposed to read wd 740 or something. I just noticed this problem. PLease help!
I know it's reading as a raid drive for some reason.

VIA 6420 is the HDD onboard controller. It is either not correctly configured in BIOS, and you did not press F6 to install third party SATA drivers because, as it is an added controller, it needs a driver to be recognized by Windows. Native chipset controller doesnt need drivers. Those are integrated in the chipset, like nforce3 or nforce4 and treated as normal IDE controller by windows..
