BIOS show 8GB but Windows XP show 4GB

I just update to 8GB then BIOS show right amount physical memory extended,, but Windows XP just show 4GB in properties. so that windows XP is capable of supporting a maximum of 4GB memory? IF i want to useable all of 8GB Ram, I must update the windows OS ?Are there the other ways?

The only way to use the additional 4 gb of memory is to upgrade windows to a 64 bit version.
