Question BIOS Update for new build ?

Just finished the build, got it booted and windows 11 installed, and just want to make sure im 100% correct here -

Im assuming I just do the most current option? - FB7 - Jul 31, 2025

Just want to make sure I have the right version for my setup - Ryzen 9 7950x

From there it's just downloading it, and extracting it to a USB, and doing the update though the bios?

Anything else i'm missing or should consider?

What BIOS version are you currently on? Before proceeding, I'd advise making sure you're on the latest chipset driver(sourced from AMD's support site) in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

From there it's just downloading it, and extracting it to a USB, and doing the update though the bios?

Ah ok just watched this and didn't realize I should have done it before the build. I just assumed you did it through the boot up bios. Is it more risky to do it with a completed build?

I haven't done any updates or any drivers other than just installing windows. Should I run the windows update and the NVIDIA driver update then do the AMD from here?

USB Q-Flash is for updating BIOS when you don't have fully compatible CPU. Updating BIOS version thru BIOS utility built into it is somewhat safer because you can see verbatim messages and progress instead of guessing from led behavior.
Since you have windows already running, download and install chipset drivers before BIOS upgrade so your system is ready for it, As MS is usually late with updating drivers, you can download them from AMD site (usually newest) or MB manufacturer's site which may have some additions specific to that MB. Peruse MB manufacturer's site for any other drivers for other MB components (Sound, USB3, IGPU, network/WiFi/BT..... anything built into MB) as they are newer and more extensive than those supplied by MS. For anything other than those on the MB like for instance those for Nvidia GPU, get from their manufacturer's site.
Since you have freshly installed Windows they are most probably already up to date. last one was 7 days ago and if it's online they will push update anyway.

On a new build, I will update the bios to currency right away.
If anything should happen to go south, I have little invested.
After that, I leave the bios alone unless an update fixes a problem I am having.

On the bios flash process, it can be scary.
It will look like nothing is going on for quite a while.
Do not interrupt the process; be patient.
