bios update help for Toshiba l555

I went to Toshiba website to update my bios for my Toshiba Satellite L555 . I extracted the update file to my flash drive. I put the USB priority for boot. It boots the USB and says "Computer Won't Restart--PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable" Then something about it not being able to find my os. How do i fix?
extra note* the reason for me updating my bios is because i bought an external gpu doc. The gpu will not work with my bios.

Your Toshiba is trying to boot via the network adapter, presumably because the pen drive itself is not bootable media (ie you haven't prepared it properly to make it bootable).
