I recently got BioShock: Infinite on Steam. The game loads fine. Once I get into the game, it randomly crashes every few minutes. I have tried the following to no avail:

Windows Compatibility with XP, Vista, and Win7 for the BioShock game file.

Disable Steam Community box

Updated Graphics card drivers (Windows didn't find anything better than what was installed)

Tried the issues and fixes here, too:

Nothing works. My entire PC crashes.

Any advice? Thanks in advance.

I see that is a laptop integrated graphics card, and most laptops won't run modern games and if they do, they run on low resolutions and details.

By pc crashing you mean teh game crash and goes to desktop or litereally it reboots the pc?

The strange thing is, the game passed my canurunit test.

And it crashes the whole pc. Just shuts it off. No reboot at all. Also I notice the right side of the laptop gets pretty hot. Maybe the game is causing my CPU to overheat? It even does this on the lowest settings.

I'm somewhat disappointed. Maybe I can get a refund on the game from Steam?

Yeah like you said, even that you could run teh game, your laptop apparently is getting hot, you need to cooldown your components by buying a coolerpad or something.

Steam is a pain in the ass when it comes to refunds, normally they only refund you if the game came broken, but as I see the game is not running and they will say something like "But you bought the game and saw the requirements, no way we will refund you".

Try setting the game to the lowest setting you can, including the lowest resolution. And play with your lap topon a laptop cooler. See if your computer can play it that way. If it can then try playing it with a hardware temp monitor running so that you can see how hot it is getting.

Thanks for the answers. I will try the lowest settings and cooler solution. The game does start and looks and plays well for a few minutes. I think it must be the overheating issue. Thanks again.
