Hello. I was wondering if the bitfenix Phenom mini Itx case had a 5.25 inch bay, I know that the case comes with an adaptor for 5.25 to 3.5, but can you actually use the 5.25 inch bay for something like a Bitfenix Recon? Thanks.
No, the 5 1/4" drive bay on top is blocked off and only usable as internal bay (hence the adapter). http://www.silentpcreview.com/article1372-page3.html
I imagine the reason it is even there is because internally, the case is a Bitfenix Prodigy. (had one of those) In fact, have you looked into the Prodigy instead?

That was my original case choice, but just wanted to know my options. Cheers.
Be sure to size your PSU for the small compartment provided on either Bitfenix. Not very deep. But the new models now have the rear opened up for passing the cables thru instead of having to route them sideways and out the compartment's slotted openings.

I think I might even go with the Obsidian 350d, I know its MATX but the bitfenix cases are most likely going to cause some problems with my GPU (Gigabyte Gtx 780 ghz) not having enough breathing space. But since the 350d is basically the size of the Fractal R4, I might as well go with that and get silent operation on top of that.
The Obsidian is a good choice for a small yet practical sized case. More cable management room than either Bitfenix, but not as compact of course.
Btw, I had the i5-2500K and R9-290X (in my sig) in my Bitfenix Prodigy for a while. But the H60 liquid cooler just couldn't keep the processor cool enough for me to be satisfied. And a larger liq cooler was out of the question. I finally went back to the mid sized Fractal design case.
