I don't have a problem with the guy who pirates something, then buys it if he likes it. Is it illegal? Absolutely. Immoral? Not so fast. Chances are, if it was good, he's probably also told his buddies, and maybe the whole world in some post somewhere, which probably generates more sales of GOOD CONTENT. Throw him in jail because he broke the law, and you're biting the hand that feeds you.

I still play my 1911 copy to get around the cd-check though. I pirated "Assassin's Creed 1" and Pre-Ordered that as well. I Pre-Ordered AC2 on amazon Order Date: December 25, 2009 Order : 103-7036930-6955442. It is now CANCELED because of the DRM they put on it! Sucks too, I loved AC1 and have replayed it 3 or 4 times now. 90% of my Games, DVDs, and BRDs are in there box not even open! I open the games if i need the online CD-Key. The pirated ver. of Games, DVDs, and BRDs All RUN BETTER then what I get IN-THE-BOX when I pay. The sad FACT is 90% of people who pirate anything "but never order even if they like it" will NEVER pay for it. So even if DRM stopped them it would NOT make there sales go up much if at all. In fact, I bet the sales they pick up is less then the sales they LOOSE because of DRM. People tend to Cancel there Pre-Orders! Check ANY site selling AC2 "Pre-Orders" and check out the comments for your self !!! Try this, name 1 game in the last 10 years that was stopped from being pirated by the CD-Check at start up. Can not think of any can ya? Then WHY IN THE HELL IS IT STILL BEING USED? All it does is PUNISH the people who pay for it! I am tired of being kicked in the nuts WHEN I PAY THEM just because they are mad at SOME ONE ELSE who did not pay![/citation]

Eventually, media is going by the wayside. Sales of media is a thing of the past... The movie theater, and the concerts are where the money is. An experience that is not replaceable. The more they make the movie theater a genuine experience, the more people will pay to go there. Currently, I feel as if my living room surpasses all but the 3D movie theater experience, and as such, I don't pay to go out to them much. I went to see Avatar 3x in 3D (the Real D 3D tech is my fav.). Don't punish people for pointing out the flaws in your outdated system... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Theatres have priced the "movie experience" beyond the range of Reason. What are they charging for a quarter's worth of popcorn these days, $6.00? And another $3.50 for a 50-cent drink? Plus the $8.00 ticket? Then there's gas, and in some places, parking. No thanks. Well, the buttholes in the 3rd row are free, as is the sticky stuff on my shoes... Anyway, for the price of a movie "experience," I can buy a cheap game; a couple will buy a more mainstream title, and a few more will pay for any upgrade I might need to play it.

It is not easier than pirating.

for Itunes or amazon you download the programs, then pay $0.99 - $1.99 for a song(s) and wait on the sucky bandwidth to download them and takes about 3min to download 1 song


or you could download limewire pro for FREE and it downloads in like 20seconds.

and I can download 1 song in approx 5-6 seconds no lie. I can make a vid to prove it!

plus I have been using an older version of limewire pro (4.14.0 i think) for 2+yrs and have not had one virus. try that with regular limewire. =]

Normally, I'm a firm believer of correlation not always meaning causation, but one can't help but to question those beliefs a bit when posts that speak negatively of piracy are voted down followed by seeing something like this...
