i might be able to sell my MOBO and CPU to a friend
If i was to sell the MOBO would you still recommend the i5 8600k?
My budget would be roughly 400 Pounds on both

Stick with the same mobo and buy the i5 8600 or buy a new MOBO and a new CPU

I would just stick with the mobo you have and get the i5 8600K, make sure you get the K version, which means it is overclockable.

How is he going to put an 8600K on a B250 motherboard, and how is he going to overclock on a B250 motherboard? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm super confused as to where this advice is coming from and it looks like the conversation went kind of off the rails.

@OP are you still on windows 7 or are you on windows 10? There's something weird going on, you shouldn't be running at base clock when your CPU is only in the 50-55C range.

Had this setup for about a year going on two years now. never really had a problem with it until recently when i bought black ops 4. im getting around 50-60 FPS on high settings and around 60-80 on low settings. i feel like it should not be that bad.

I tried vsync but it still goes under 60 and makes my game choppy enough to feel terrible playing

the graphics card temp recently started going really high when playing but i just turn the Fan speed up to about 60% and it sits around 40-50 depending on how long i play

I play on 1920x1080

i go from high settings to low settings and there is only like 10-20 fps difference ( thought there would of been more of a gap )
