There's this really annoying issue that I've been facing for the past week or so. Whenever I play TF2 and I alt+tab out of the game, all my monitors go black. Same thing when I press the close button. When the game is open, I have steam open on my second monitor and I receive incoming messages and Skype calls, so it's not like my PC is frozen. When I play games I generally always have chrome or music from you tube playing. When I alt+tab out of TF2,all my monitors go black. But I guessed where my cursor was and managed to click on the video, which played it. So it's not like my pc's frozen, all the screens are just black. I can even alt+tab back into TF2 and play it like normal.

I've gone into device manager and update my GPU drivers and I have even un-plugged every cable in my pc and re-plugged them in again.

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it, it's really annoying having to restart your pc everytime you want to close a game.

I found the problem. I found a fix where you need to set your monitor's refresh rate to 60hz insted of 59hz. One of my monitors was on 60, but the other was on 59. That's what was causing it. If you're reading this and you're also experiencing this issue, try this. If it doesn't work, go through this thread here:

This is common among some games. There's no real way to solve this, reinstalling TF2 and steam might help but i doubt it. Just don't alt tab. Also it might depend on the power of your system, I've noticed that more powerful CPU's don't get this issue as often as weaker ones since alt tabbing is pure multitasking.
